Where should I begin?
Choose a landscape first. Plitvice for lakes and forest, the Gacka valley for springs and local life, or Krasno for an introduction to Northern Velebit. The map helps you see how the places relate; it is not a timed driving itinerary.
Do I need to plan park visits in advance?
Check the official park website for entry arrangements, current visit programmes and closures. Plitvice, Northern Velebit and Grabovača have different visitor arrangements; do not assume one ticket or timetable applies to all of them.
Can I combine Lika with the coast?
Yes. Senj and the coast below Velebit make a natural onward chapter. They are shown as coastal gateways, separate from inland Lika. Continue through Senj.travel and Kvarner.travel for the wider journey.
Is every map point accessible by car?
No. Map pins identify places, not guaranteed parking spots or trail access. Use the official visitor links for entrances and current access. For Zavratnica, plan your approach from Jablanac rather than navigating a car to the bay.
